Mike,

See below. Just discussed on another list.
As for working on the tanks in place see repairs on my web site. Been the
Done that.

There is a lot of BAD info on tank repair on the net and in yards that do
want to charge a lot for a big job as opposed to a reasonable job and cost.

A friend of mine, Ron Bodeen , used CERAM-KOTE99 to coat the inside of his
leaking diesel tanks. ( it is a ceramic resin coating) He and I had just
started the Great Circle Cruise in Mar of 06 when he had the problem. We
exchanged a number of emails and telecons and he used this product. It is
still there and the tanks are not leaking. He is a member of MTOA that is
the MARINE TRAWLER OWNERS ASSOC and wrote an article for our magazine. If
you are a member look at the art. or see it on the CD that has all past
issues of the magazine on it. I do not have the
CD or I would copy and paste the article.
In the article he states that many told him that it would not work!!!!! (
When I looked into a similar coating I was told the same thing!)

As you know I repaired my tanks in a different manner. Ron is very satisfied
with the fix-----it worked!!
Incidentally, Ron and I had never met when he posted to a cruising list abt
his problem. We exchanged e mails as I stated and I eventually called him.
We finally met, by coincidence in Baltimore many months later. We have
become good friends with he and his wife visiting our home on their way back
to San Diego in their motorhome and we flew out there last winter. Now our
wives talk just abt every week.
As always YMMV
