Hi Phil,
When we lived aboard our last boat "Hearts Desire" a 44 Atlantic, my wife
stated she would not even consider being aboard without a washer and dryer.
This was a sundeck boat and the previous owner had plumbed only cold water and
electric to this location. We purchased a Whirlpool apartment sized (I
believe only 27" wide) washer and dryer (non-stackable). The dryer was only
120V so a typical drying cycle was about 90 min. but it got the job done.
Washing with cold water was not problematic as pulling the hot water to that
location would have been a royal p in the a. I built an enclosure of pressure
treated ply covered in mica and trimmed with what passed for teak.
