GL: Illinois River

We stopped in at Eastport Marina in East Peoria (depths about four 
feet in September of 2005).  When asked about channel depth, one of 
the locals said, "Well, around here, the water just gets thicker near 
the bottom until you are in mud!"

Bob gives good advice about Peoria and Beardstown.
