GL: strainer for bilge pump

Many years ago I made a strainer for an emergency pump from a 10 inch 
length of one inch plastic water pipe. Put a cap on one end and a FEMALE 
BRASS WATER HOSE FITTING on the other. Drilled several dozen holes in it 
to let the water in. Holes abt 1/4 or so in diameter. This aint rocket 
science!!
Why 10 inches? Because that is what I had.
