Jack,
Generally, beam is not an issue unless you are in a Cat. There were a
few Cats on the loop last year and as I recall lock 45 on the TS was the
narrowest lock on the loop. The lockmaster had fun telling one of the
larger Cats that his boat was just a bit wide for the lock....everyone
had a great laugh after a minute or two when the lockmaster fessed up
that in fact his Cat had less than a foot clearance!
So if your in a Cat that's over 19' or so on the beam you'll want to
check with the TS engineer or web site. They list minimum requirements.
