The only restriction to beam for a loop boat is more likely to be an
occasional marina that can't accommodate a wide beam boat other than
on a T-heat or the fuel dock(usually a catamaran sort of beam, and
they don't draft much usually).
You are more likely to run into draft problems long before a beam
problem. Many tour boats are much wider than a Looper boat, and you
will find them plying everywhere you may want to go. Even in the
Trent-Severn, the locks are plenty wide, but the T-S waterway is
limited in depth in some places.
If your boat is so big you are worried about your beam, you probably
shouldn't try any of the canals other than the Welland. Maybe not
even that one.
Maybe we could trade boats for a year or so -- even Steven?
