Sorry that you missed the *joke*, Ralph. John & Judy said, "the
difference between Nautical miles (6080 feet) versus Statute miles
(52870 feet) distances." Why would I want to set my plotter to miles that
are fifty-two thousand, eight-hundred and seventy feet?

The Skipper Bob ICW guide suggests setting your GPS plotter to STATUTE MILES

since the ICW is measured and referenced in statute miles.
