In regards to your British friends, Larry, who have 3 months to cruise in the
US: Having been to Wales 3 times (my name is GRIFFITH, how Welsh can you get?)
they'll find the weather hotter here for sure! None the less, I would start
MUCH farther south than you suggest...perhaps start in Savanah, working their
way slowly north. This will give them a far broader 'taste of the US' as they
can visit such lovely places as Savanah and Charleston for starters, getting a
taste of the south as well as mid US and as far north as time allows including
the Chesapeake. They might be able to take in Williamsburgh and even DC if
they like, and the trip through Norfolk/Portsmouth and NEwport News is
impressive to say the least! Too much to list in this email, but looking at an
atlas will offer a zillion ideas. For a trip like this is a copy of
Claibourne Young's cruising book for S and N Carolina is an historical
MUST!
Just wish he'd gone farther north with his books! They could spend a whole
summer in the Chesapeaks alone, but I think what I have suggested will give
them the most for the bucks.
