Larry,
Florida is out for the summertime.  I'd council against the Chesapeake in
summer also, for many of the same reasons.  LI Sound, Hudson River, Erie
Canal, Oswego Canal, Thousand Islands, St. Lawrence & Lake Champlain sounds
about right to me.  Maybe throw in a bit of the Trent Severn if time permits.
