GL: Loop advice received

I think that the key to your replies was in response to your statememt: "He
will be in the US for three months next summer."

The rivers, the Big Bend etc are all nice places with fun people and things
to do, but unless you really like HOT weather, the summer is not the time to
spend there.

We did the loop in 06-07, spent 1000 miles on the Tennessee and Little
Tennessee rivers in October/November.  That time of the year is great in
that area.  Winter in Florida has much to offer over our home area on Lake
Superior went you get to the point that you strap the skis to the wall over
the doorway and not to your feet.
