Dear Family & Friends. We are back on the trent-severn waterway, and therefore
can get to local libraries to get on the internet. We departed Port Severn (
severe turbulance) inlate June and cruised the south end of Georgian Bay,
There were great beaches but little protection at Methodist Bay park, Frying
pan bay was quiet and beautiful butm is was impossible to hike due to a cloud
of mosquitoes. The town of Parry sound no longer has convenient (walking
distance) provisioning, but Kilbear provincial park had good beaches and fair
protection. Killbear marina has some provisioning, water and fuel. Both Point
Au Baril Station and Britt were easily entered and had good provisioning.
Beaverston Bay was well marked and calm, and the inside passage to Kilarney
was quiet with excellent anchorage in Mill Lake. The "Pool" at the head of bay
Fin was
verrrry weedy and a dissapointment. There was good provisioniing at little
current, and the pretties anchorage of the entire trip was between North and
South Benjamin Islands. This years weather has been cold windy and rainey som
we might do the same trip next year. Weare now at Bobcaygeon on the T-S,
excellent provisioning, we also provisioned at Orillia and at Fenlon Falles
where you see the falls as you approach the lock from below (moderate
turbulance).Boat & crew are all well and send their best. Jon & Nancy &
Valentine.
