GL: Loop advice needed.

My advice would be to try an extend his cruise to include the eastern shore  
of Lake Michigan and lift out at Holland Michigan. Michigan has the finest 
ports  on the trip and are less than $1.00 per foot dockage. This would include  
Mackinac, Little Traverse Bay. and the Michigan ports on Lake Michigan.
He could break the trip into three one month segments..
    5/15-6/15...Chesapeake-Albany, NY
    6/15-7/15...Erie Canal, Trent, North Channel
    7/15-8/15...Mackinac, Little Traverse Bay, Lake  Michigan
 
This is a pretty standard summer schedule for most loopers who are doing  the 
loop in a 12 month period. He could spend the whole 3 months in the North  
Channel THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE LOOP.
