Just paid $5.00 per gallon for diesel at Clifton Dock fuel pier in
Northeast Harbor, Maine. One of the employees said the price has been
dropping frequently (not frequently enough for my credit card).
We're currently on a mooring at Northeast Harbor along with a number of
other boats who are going to be on the "Fundy Trek" sponsored by Points
East magazine. We depart Sunday (the 10th), weather permitting, for
Cutler, Maine, then to Grand Manan on Monday, and Tuesday to St. John,
New Brunswick and the "reversing falls."
So far, since the 1st of May when we departed Merritt Island, Florida,
we've cruised 2259 nautical miles and 377 hours underway. Average fuel
consumed by the main engine (Ford-Lehman 135) is 1.7 gallons per hour.
