Having the tank vent near the tank fill is just another nice design feature
of the Monk 36 that all add up to make it a well-designed boat. Like Bill,
rather than buying yet another device to store, since I had to be at the
tank fill anyway, I would keep an ear to the vent (not literally) and listen
for that gurgling sound that indicates that the tank is near full.
