GL: Cats for the loop

We have an Endeavour Cat 48, which has an 18'6" beam and have just travelled 2,000 miles on it. None of the marinas we stayed at charged us extra for being a catamaran (or tried to) since we fit into a standard 50' slip. As suggested by Mike & Tammy, we would give them the dimensions of the boat before telling them it is a catamaran. Most of the time we were on the T docks, but they seem to generally put all larger transients there as it is easier. T docks can suffer from more wake than a slip, but the catamaran is so stable that is not a problem.

The 48 is a great boat, only three stairs inside down to the guest s/r, but stairs up to the helm. On floating docks it is easy to get on and off. I believe Endeavour will be showing a 48 and a 40 at the fall boat shows; worth a look.

SNIP - One word of advice when getting a slip. Give the marina your length, width and
draft. If you tell them you are a catamaran some marinas will charge extra (or
even claim they can't handle you). Of course if you get a monster with a 25
foot beam they will probalby catch on and charge you anyway. I figure if they
have all the pertinent data and we fit into a normal slip, they will have to
explain why they want more, which they probably won't. Push comes to shove,
we've never not been able to get a slip, but we only have a 14' beam.
