GL: Car rentals along the Tenn-Tom

I have only rented a car once along the Tenn. River in Scotsboro (Goose Pond)
AL and the only car rental was a woman in the middle of a divorce! GOKs if
she's still in business! (but Louis Letson can tell you!) Some of these towns
are too small to have a rental facility but often there are ways around that
dilemma! I kept my boat at Grand Harbor, at the top of the Tenn-Tom and there
is a great Captain Chip there who will drive you to an airport. If he's not
there, I am sure the marina will find someone who can drive you to Memphis,
the closest airport. Aqua Yachts around the bend will, I'm sure also get you
to an airport. It all depends on why you want a car? To get you home? to get
you to the nearest airport? I know that Ginger, at Midway MArina
midway at nexband.com will get you to an airport, find a car or whatever,
(Gordon's brother's boat is there now). You've got to realize you're out in
the 'boonies' much of the time along this route but the
'locals' are REALLY friendly and helpful. It'd be a good idea to contact some
of these marinas beforehand to find what's available. Last I knew,
Enterprize, where both my granddaughters worked at one time, did not rent one
way cars! You may find that a problem in these small towns. Good luck!
