I want to thank all of the folks who were kind enough to welcome
me aboard and offer their advice and help. I noticed a number of them
were Texans - WOW!
Great advice is coming in and I am absorbing it as I go along. As a result,
I have signed up for the USCG Home/Internet Course and the local
Power Squadron in Fort Worth ... first Class/Seminar begins May 10th at
Eagle Mountain Lake. Folks theer have already invited me to join them
and offered to help using their boats.
All these folks are great people and not to be taken advantage of. Thank\
you all for your kindness to someone you don't even know.
I have begun following Loopers on my MS Streets and Maps with GPS
until I can obtain an automated nautical map system that will operate on
my laptop. Have found several advertised but don't know which is the best
to interface with boat radar and other devices. Also found engine
monitoring system I am checking out. (Yep, trying to achieve an
economical state-of-the-art system for the forthcoming boat.)
If you have any comments recommendations that can't be put on the
group blog, you can reach me at mccallr at gmail.com. Comments,
advice, recommendations from the experts all welcome and highly
appreciated.
Happy boating! (Wish I were there - any room for stow-aways!?!)
P.S. All who recommended the Power Squadron, thanks ... they are great
people too!!
Rich
Again, thanks much folks. Hope I can return the favor sometime.
Stay in touch.
Rich
