GL: St. Augustine Inlet

Am thinking about going outside to from St. Augustine Florida to the St. 
Johns River or Cumberland Sound in order to bypass the bridge work that 
is currently holding up boats transiting the ICW at mile 748 - 
Jacksonville Beach.

Has anyone used the St. Augustine Inlet recently? Did the markers seem 
to be in the correct location? Did you follow someone with local knowledge?
