According to the Hiscocks (a world-girdling British sailing couple) 35
pounds is the minimum size CQR that can be relied upon to hold. I had a 45
pound CQR on my 16,000 pound, 37 foot cutter and it performed well. Setting
requires good technique.

| Of course many think that oversized anchors are the best way (weigh?) to
go, but I think 45# CQR is too big for a 32 footer. Typically I see 36#
CQR's on 36' trawlers. Maybe you should consider a 35# or smaller.
