Jon:

I have always found that Skipper Bob's books provide good information
like you are seeking. The Waterway Guide is also good, and there is
a book called Trent-Severn Waterway Boating and Road Guide that is
good. Also, I enjoyed using this web guide:
http://www.cruising.ca/trent/index.html

For a more direct answer, all the larger towns will likely have
anything you need -- Trenton, Peterborough, Orillia, Barrie and
Lindsay are good bets. Many of the smaller towns also provide
adequate shopping for groceries, hardware, liquor ($$$), etc.

You should have no trouble at all finding what you need in the T-S.

Have fun!
