Fred

We are US citizens/residents who own a cottage in Canada; on Lake Huron's
North Channel (BTW it is for sale, under $200K). The only other thing that I
would make sure that you have is your insurance documentation and all
required safety equipment.

Over the years I have heard many different stories as to what is required,
and they seem to vary by where the port of entry was at. The CND custom's
officials have a lot of "at the agent's discretion." My additional advice is
to contact the CND customs station where you plan on crossing the border.

Just as a reminder, fill up with fuel before crossing the border. Also, no
handguns, pepper spray. You are allowed to take in 40 oz of liquor per
person duty free. Booze is very expensive in CND.

Where are you planning on doing your boating?

We plan to take our Regal 27 into Canadian waters this summer and I would
like to know what documentation is needed to clear into Canada. Our boat is
too small to be documented but is registered in California. All we have is
the bill of sale and the registration. Thanks Fred Flinn
