GL: Broadband Cell Service - Bahamas

We just returned from the Abacos. Here is what we experienced.

Good WiFi in most major (that's a relative term) harbors. For example, West
End, Green Turtle, Treasure, Hopetown, Marsh Harbor, Boatharbor). We didn't
have an external antennae but would add one if we return.

Oii.net (Out Island Internet) has relatively good coverage in the larger
Abacos towns and hence anchorages. It's a bit pricey (I think $120-180 a
month). Look at their site for coverage maps, rates and cost for external
antenna.

On a related note, what is the situation in the Bahamas?

We are not retired or independently wealthy so we have to work regularly,
which means we need fairly regular internet access at a reasonable price.
This year we did the Keys which have excellent 3G (At&T) coverage.

I realize some of the out islands will have little or no service but are
there enough that we could be away from service for no more than 2-3 days at
a time? As long as the price was reasonable, we would consider wi-fi sites
also.

  Thanks for any help.
