GL: Air Card

I have not heard anyone mention Sprint.

We used the Verizon AirCard for three years just about anywhere, and
it was OK but not great. Six months ago we switched to Sprint for the
following reason:

We have homes in IL, FL, a timeshare in Hilton Head and of course Sans
Souci in Wisconsin. Although we did not use the Sprint card when we
did the Loop (3 years ago, we just used a cell phone interface), we
have found better utility from Sprint compared to our Verizon card in
most locations in those areas. Lake Michigan was a toss-up, each card
had their poor spots. We have not tried Canada.

The clincher is that the Sprint Pantera card can be used with a
Kyocera KR1 wireless router. So, in all locations (except in a car)
we first put the Pantera card in the router, which then creates a WiFi
network within the house or boat we are in. Doing this we are able to
have 1 mb Internet in all locations that can be shared by all of our
notebooks. No more DSL or Cable anywhere, just the Sprint card. Cost
is about $150 for the KR1, $60/month for Sprint.
