Bill,
 Right on. Think about how little pressure it would take to push out a layer 
of masking tape.!!!!! If no more than that will rupture your fuel tank then 
one has a lot more problem than  a little damp air in the tank!!!

I do not empty the tanks but do what you do , just run down the amt. Right 
now there is abt 175 gal or so in the tanks (with a 510 capacity).

Note that I do put a full dose of biocide in at haul out so that the fuel 
that is in the tank is well treated over the winter.

I am not suggesting that what I do  is the right way or that anyone do this. 
It is merely what I do and it has worked for me. As always YMMV!!!!!!
