GL: Talking to tows

Along the North Coast of the Gulf of Mexico, which has a high volume of
commercial traffic, I have usually heard a boat pushing barges called a tow by
other "tows", lock tenders, and bridge tenders. That boat traveling without
barges is usually called a "light boat". My experience has been that they are
very helpful and almost always respond when called on the radio. It is
surprising to me that quite a few of them do not have their name on the stern.
