I feel that a "help me"discussion about web blogs
and creating web sites is most un-appropriate on
this list. Having to endure some other subjects
such as guns and in the past, political discussions
that also go beyond the parameters of good discourse
has caused people to leave this list.
Mike has a very tough job, for which he is not even
compensated, is tough enough. If you are really
serious.
and I mean really serious, not just looking of free
advice, go to
http://lynda.com/
and sign up for a fee time limited free trial or go
to iTunes
http://www.apple.com/itunes/
and sign up for FREE podcasts about blogs and web
site creation. Mike is the moderator and taking his
time up with checking the veracity and accuracy of
each post about web blogs and web site creation is
more than he needs or wants.
iTunes and pod casts are not as Apple oriented as one
may perceive. Now that Apple has the ability to
display
and run PC software, it's not just only Apple oriented

any more. Although I feel certain that the Redmond
crowd would love to take issue with that.
The bottom line, from my point of view is quite
simple.
If you want to learn about creating web stuff, go a
web site devoted to it and get correct information.
I have to laugh at how some people try and give
their take on certain items on maintenance and care
of engines, windlasses, lines, docking, et al and when
they are incorrect with their information, they are
called out on it. Spouting off about web design,
blogging and posting images on the web is actually
off the parameters of what we are this site for.
Yes, it is extremely important to post your
information
and let the rest of us know about your adventures,
trials and tribulations. However, like trawlering, you

have to pay your dues by learning as you go.
Not the same with web design or blogging.
There are many sites that teach this for free
and even Lynda.com has a free feature, up to a point.
Then you pay as you go.
Don't ask me or the others on this list to help you
develop what we have taken time to learn. Yes, I
also teach and create photography, however I would
never ask this list to help me with what I have
spent my life creating for work. There are others
who do that and I have paid them to teach me.

Creating artwork is not something that you can just
pick up like a newspaper. The key word is create.
Not just throw up in color as way too many sites are
prone to do.

I'm still trying to figure out: what
"defiantly on subject."
really means.
I usually spell check before I post.
LOL

Rick Redfern
