GL: A Short Loop

My wife and I are planning a trip to start April 2008:  Chesapeake, New
York, Hudson, Lake Ontario, Ottawa, Montreal, St Lawrence to Nova Scotia,
and down east coast (Maine to NY) and back to Chesapeake.
We would appreciate any info anyone cares to provide, such as a web site of
a trip log or emailing details of what they now.
We have done the trip to Lake Ontario before so info on that section is not
needed, but we are really interested in dos and don'ts on the trip from the
1,000 islands to Ottawa and Montreal and the rest of the trip down the St
Lawrence around the east coast to NS, Maine and back to New York.
We have Skipper Bob's books but not a lot of info on the latter part of that
trip available there.  We will of course buy the charts and guides
recommended in Bob's books.
