Matt,

Go for it. The worst that can happen is that you don't like traveling in 
that small of a boat and continue in a different one!!!!!!!

There are a number of people with travel web sites for the Great Circle 
Cruise that have a wealth of info.

Clock wise or counter, in a small boat go the way you need. Current on the 
big rivers is a huge factor but you must weigh  all and make a decision.

We are two yrs, 12 months of cruising, into it and  over 5400 miles and are 
not yet halfway. Plan on 3 more seasons and about another 5,000 miles.
Conventional wisdom is one year and 5,400 miles total!!! Heck, we spent 3 
weeks doing the 125 miles of the Rideau.
