With white fenders what I think happens is that over the yrs of use and
constant cleaning the smooth surface of the fender is worn away so
even if it is cleaned that it scuffs easily and is then stained beyond
cleaning. That is my take on having the same fenders for 15 or more yrs.
Until THE WIFE had me get new BIG ones for her and she suggested the BLACK
ones.
We did abt 100 locks this season and they are none the worse for wear---look
good too!!!
Please, please do not put PLASTIC bags over your fenders. That is an
invitation to ruining an engine when your plastic gets in a water
intake.
