We just had a laundry list of repairs done to B & B which necessitated a
haul out, among other things, and we had the work done at Rottgering Marine
at mile 43.0 on the Cumberland River. Our repairs were done quickly and as
soon as parts could be obtained. It is a working yard and not pretty, but
we felt the service was top notch and very reasonable and would recommend
it. While waiting for parts, we stayed at nearby Buzzard Rock Marina for
$20 per night and were also very happy with our stay there. The owner,
Wayne, is also a boater and has made his marina very boater friendly: it was
quiet and clean and had a courtesy car.
We are currently at Pebble Isle marina, which we are also happy with. A
week's stay is $90 for our 36 foot boat, plus electricity ($15 for a weeks
worth of air conditioning) and gets even more reasonable if you stay a
month. Fuel here is currently $2.89 per gallon for diesel with a $.10 per
gallon Boat US discount.
