On Valentine our Nordic Tug 37 with a Cummins 330 hp TA straight six, power on
the solinoid keeps the engine runniing. Power off the solonoid, either by
turning off key, activation of the fire bottle or FAILURE OF THE SOLI
NOID!!!!!!!!!!! kills the engine I have personally experienced three solinoid
failures. On valentine I have rigged to the kill switch solinoid a piece of
small stuff to tie a failed solinoid in the on position in case of solinoid
failure. To stop the engine it would then be necessary to go into the engine
room and release the solinoid to the off position. Jon.
