GL: Winterizing a boat FW System

"What we actually did to our water system:

Drained the tanks but this leaves abt 3/4 inch of water so I poured a qt of 
cheap vodka in each tank. To pump vodka throughout the system, mine anyway, 
would take a lot more gallons of the stuff than I would want to pur. 
Remember the expansion tank!!"

Wouldn't the alcohol (the anti-freeze part)?in the vodka slowly, over several months,?evaporate into the air?above the tank and (slowly) out the vents ? Seems like this would defeat the effects of adding it to the tank.
