What we actually did to our water system:
Drained the tanks but this leaves abt 3/4 inch of water so I poured a qt of
cheap vodka in each tank. To pump vodka throughout the system, mine anyway,
would take a lot more gallons of the stuff than I would want to pur.
Remember the expansion tank!!
I then used compressed air to blow out all the lines this , after
disconnecting the lines fr the tanks. I left thenm disconnected for the
winter.
Drained the water heater.
Drained the water filter under the sink.
Left all spigots and hose bibs open.
This way there is no anti[-freeze in the tanks and none in the lines.
As always YMMV.
