GL: Winterizing a boat

I believe what you need is what we simply call "pink stuff."

It is available CHEAPLY at Wal-Mart in the RV department

It is specifically safe for winterizing drinking water tanks

and lines, but you wouldn't want to drink it. Takes a bunch

of flushing to get the bad taste out when Spring comes!

I don't winterize my boat, but use thermostically controlled

electric heaters. No problem except in case of ice storms

which can knock out power for days or even weeks. When

that happens, I just have to go to the boat and run the

genset as necessary.

For my RV (travel trailer) I simply open all the faucets, drain

the lines, and distribute a few gallons of pink stuff anti-freeze

into drains and holding tanks.
