GL: Anchor paint

Once, while I was setting at a dock waiting for a good weather window,
I noticed a traveling boater painting his anchor with RUST-O-LEUM's
"HAMMERED" paint. I made some comment about that being a losing
battle. To which we both agreed.
The gentleman told me that even though it required regular touching up it
made for the dirt, muck and mud to slide off so easy that he very seldom
had to wash his anchor down. And, if it did require washing, it took less
time to get the job done.
I tried it and damn if he wasn't right. Now every so often I wash mine down
with the hose, let it dry and apply another coat of the above mentioned paint.
One of the many really great tips I've picked up form other boat owners.
