Sea Knight crossed from west to east yesterday-11-22(Thanksgiving)-
channel from Clewiston out to the Lake probably averages 5'. We bumped
2x(draft 3'6") so don't recommend anything more than that attempt the
crossing. Without rain in this the dry season, it will only get worse.
By the way, the Corps' web site was advertising 4.27' yesterday. It was
a nerve wracking trip!. Roland Martin Marina, in Clewiston was a ghost
town-we were just barely above the bottom-Don't recco that marina
either.
On the bright side, we arrived late in Stuart(St. Lucy and Franklin
locks only operate 1 lockage at 10AM and 3 PM) at the brand new
Harborage Yacht Club and Marina(formerly, Northside Marina) and were
treated royally-they held the restaurant open for us to partake of a
classic and scrumptious turkey dinner. One of the best dinners in 5,000
miles! This is a first class
operation($2.50 a foot-$5.00 electric) with the best rest rooms on
the loop, plus swim pool and hot tub. Turkey pix on the web site!
