GL: Bottom Paint Stripping

Hello All,

I am in the process of lining up someone to strip the bottom paint, and have
it barrier coated, and repainted.  My question is this.  Is there anyone
familiar with stripping process called Media Blasting.  I am told that it's a
new process that uses baking soda instead of sand.  From what I have been told
using this method does not harm the gel coat, but removes all of the old
paint.  Any input would be appreciated.
