  After our boat was hauled last month, I removed the rubber from my Defever

  It was EXTREMELY heavy. Mine attached at the top with 4 bolts. However, the
  rudder had to be turned in order to get the bolts to clear the hull.
  I would not do this unless it was in the boat yard.
  Best advice is get towed to a travel lift and haul out.
