Line Cutters. This discussion seems to prove to me that installing line cutters is a VERY good idea! Thanks, Bob Kunath, for identifying the circular cutters as being Prop Protectors from Toronto. I'd forgotten the name. I'd certainly install them again vs the spurs since I KNOW the spurs did not work with the cable we caught. Don't know if the Prop Protector would have cut it or not, but it had a much better chance of doing the job. I'd guess nothing is 100% sure so I'd opt for the cheaper, more simple item. TT asked about barnacles. I had a major problem with barnacles with Cinderella in Florida but when we got to Green Turtle in fresh water had the boat hauled, there was not a problem even though the hull itself still had barnacle remains. When First Forty was hauled I saw no problems with the Prop Protectors. I'd guess though that if left exposed enough, the PP would do far better since there are no moving parts involved. Yes, you need to warn any
divers about the PPs!
