GL: Line Cutters

My observation from these sources (email lists, web sites, clubs,
individuals, etc.) is that NONE of them have done an honest side-by-side
comparison. They simply picked a solution. Then when they had an encounter,
they found it worked. Great. That's how its supposed to be.
But what about the other solutions? No one can comment on one compared to
the other, only their single data point of the one they have actually
bought, installed and tried.

Spurs seems to be the product that is selling more than the others. Plenty
of folks are speaking out that they have bought and used them. And with good
results. The dock line tangle reported is one of the better ones as it
probably did
not have that many wraps and the line was thicker than a crab pot line.

If you buy hose or line in a marine store, observe the cutting tool they
use. Its a sharp edge against a blunt edge. Cuts like butter.

Being a real Cheapster, I am tending to try the prop-protector as its
several hundred dollars cheaper and easier to install. If it works, then why
spend $200 more? But if its not as effective, and only works in certain
scenarios, then the $200 becomes more justified.

Ron makes a very good observation. Perhaps it is worth the money....only
testing would tell us !
R.
