Senile! Senile, you say! Do I know you? Have we ever met??
Hey listen, senility is great! I bought 3 VHS's 10 years ago, and I get to watch a new movie every night!
Seriously, maybe there's a reason it's a very small handful, ya think? It is a long stretch of river with few resupply points and few places to spend the night. Then you get to the Big Easy and have to navigate all those tight channels and commercial traffic, most loopers just bypass it for Mobile and wind up that much closer to Florida.
Tommy, I don't know your exact route out to the Gulf, but judging by the time I spent on workboats down there, the trip would have scared the hell out of me at times.
So, Matt, it would be an interesting and challenging trip, real river life, but peace and tranquility NOT.

Matt, Phil is truly a wonderful guy, but he is a bit senile and I really
wouldn't listen to him anymore....the Mississippi River route is the best
part of the whole loop.........although only I will admit it, because I am
one of a small handful that went that way.
