GL: Tipping Mechanics

I have to agree that the price one must pay these days does not necessarily
justify a tip although I do on occasion slip the guy actually doing the work
a 20 depending upon the size of the job. Sadly, the guy doing the job gets
a fraction of what one pays the owner but then as a business owner I know
the woes of overhead, insurance, liabilities, etc. and the 85/hour does not
shock me. It sure has forced me to do more work myself! In the past I have
promoted tipping to those who provide a good service and if it is someone
other than the owner doing the work I think a small token of appreciation
may be warranted but certainly not required.
