Phil, Matt,
I have done the Miss all the way from Cairo to New Orleans, and beyond for
that matter.

The Miss from Baton Rouge , La. to N. O. and the Gulf is not good for
pleasure boats. But, do recall that until the Tenn.-Tom was built that was
the ONLY way!!!!!( And it has not been that many yrs..)

>From Cairo to the Atchafalaya river in La. is a nice trip. See my web page
for the particulars.

Turn into the Atchafalaya and you have a whole new set of rivers at your
disposal. Very scenic and void of a lot of boats that annoy!!!!! Again see
the articles of our trips on these rivers on the web site.

Yes, the Tenn.-Tom is more built up and all that goes with it. If you want
nature take the Miss to the Atchaf.

There is also the huge Atchafalaya Swamp Basin, not to be missed. Oh, be
ready to take care of yourself- no curtsy marinas, in fact none!!!!!!!!

Just my experience. Anyone wishing to do the trip let me know. Look it up on
actvecaptain.com

While headed down the Miss turn west into the Muskogee ,Oklahoma. We went
all the way to Tulsa but the last leg of that is like the Miss from Baton
Rouge to N.O.
