Another good reason to have an Atlas or road maps of the areas you will be
traveling through, is watching the weather.  While listening to NOAA or local
weather on TV, it is often reported by county.  For example, we have boating
friends who stopped by our boat when we were in New Bern, NC, about a year
ago.  The previous week they were docked in Beaufort, NC.  There were some bad
storms and a funnel cloud was spotted in Cartaret County.  They thought
Beaufort, NC, was in Beaufort County but it is actually in Cartaret County.
