GL: Loop planning

Hey Larry,
at first I don't think I was putting enough effort into it.  The plan
is more on way points now, where I stop, what is there to do locally,
how lazy I want to be. :)

A fellow looper just gave me some information on software which can be
loaded on my laptop. Create the way points, to do's locally a long the
way, add information/points of interest as I go. To complete the
package is a USB GPS, I can monitor my passage on my laptop as I go. 
Good backup to the northstar if it dies for some reason.

I tell ya, the thread I created on loop equipment, I have received so
much information you wouldn't belive. A bunch of nice people on this
server.

I have been using google maps but there not great for the details,
depending on the area your looking at you can't view via sat very
close.  If you not looking via the Sat option you won't see many
rivers. When you do find a river the name is not listed. Sure you can
get general information that will lead you to it. I guess nothing is
perfect.

I have a digital cell service phone which I have had for years now,
expense isn't to bad, reception is better than most. It even works in
the hills of VT. I plan on using it. Killing my hard line at home while
I'm looping.

As for the bills, my kids will be taking care of that for me, including
keeping an eye on the place. On line banking is a good thing, I can
check on it when I get access. I really don't have that many bills
anyways. Their grown don't live at home. Friends in the area will help
with what ever is needed. I'll get updates via emails when I can get on
line. I'm going to have a calling card when/if I can get on a hard line
and cell phone is out, cheeper than 800 calls.

Well do it Larry, we can meet somewhere along the line and have a few
beers. :)
