You can keep all of the charts you need stored flat under the mattresses 
of your bed and the v-berth! Cruising guides and other cruising books 
that aren't being used can be stored in a water tight plastic container 
in the lazarette or any other "void" on the boat. To me, that's easier 
than trying to pre-position stuff and ship things back when you're 
through with them.
