GL: FW: JIM has Tagged you! :)

Interesting, I run both a software firewall and hardware firewall, up to
date virus and never open an email unless I am sure of the contents
(typically I tend to preview in the preview screen)

I can't help but wonder if there is a spybot capturing addresses from
someone on the list and perhaps this "Jim" gentleman is someone that has
emailed me on the back burner.

The other safeguard that I tend to do, is at the very front of my
address book, I have a ficticious address. At one time an I.T. pro told
me that if you get a virus it will try to send to all in your address
book but if you have a ficticious first address, it typically cannot do
so. This will protect your contacts.

For those that might be interested, this is the address I use and it
will always stay at the top.
!oooo@a.aaa

Thanks to all for the concern and replies.

Good Boating

Bob

A couple of other things, Bob (and all).

Make sure you are using anti-spyware software and
keep it updated. Consumer Reports suggested
that Ad-Aware Pro was the best in a recent test.
Be aware that it can not be used in conjunction
with the most recent McAfee Anti-Virus software.
McAfee includes anti-spyware with their latest
packages.

I also use Spybot and Spyware Blaster, both of which
are free, but they ask for donations and you should
contribute to their efforts.

Additionally, when you send or forward something to
a large group of people, send it to yourself, but put
all the other recipients as BCC (in the blind) addressees.
That way, it is unlikely that somebody can "mine" your addressees as
spam targets.

Thanks to all who took time to reply. I was wondering if perhaps a
spammer had gotten hold of the list and others were receiveing the same
thing.

I will just add these particular keywords to my filter and hopefully
will never see another.

Off to get the boat ready to get wet this weekend,
have a good weekend to all.

Bob

Probably spam/phishing to get your personal data.

DO NOT go there.
