Henry,

The best kept secret is the New York Canal System ... Erie Canal,
Champlain Canal, etc.

Last year and apparently this year too, it's FREE.
Dockage at all lock piers and half the town docks is also FREE. Many of these
locations have electric, also FREE. Water is free, pumpout is free, and now a
lot of them have wifi for free too.

Of the towns that charge for overnite
dockage with electric, it's typically 8 bucks. The most expensive is about 20
bucks.

Free is a pretty good price eh?

Subject: GL: America the Beautiful Passport
In my travels I stopped at the Franklin lock on the Okeechobee Waterway
where
there are small number of slips and a campground. There are some
vessels in
the 40-45 foot range docked here now. The person in the office
says there is
a thing called a "Golden Age Passport, which I have found has
been changed to
an "America The Beautiful Passport", available at National
Parks facilities.
If one is over 62 years of age the passport can be
purchased for $10.00 and
is good for life, younger it is good for one year.
This passport gives free
admission for life to all National Parks and a
discount here.

Since there
is a discount here at the Franklin lock, do any of you know of
discounts
elsewhere of interest to loopers?
