AMEN and Great Advise! That is the way we do it also on Floating
Bollards, Cables hanging from the top of the lock walls or Fixed
Bollards. The rule is never tie the lines (except):
There are only four locks, that we know of (or can remember), on the
Great Loop where the lines should be cleated -- The Peterborough and
Kirkfield Lift Locks; the Marine Railway at Big Chute on the Trent-
Severn Waterway; and the Carillon Lock on the Ottawa River which has
a floating dock inside the lock. In each of these cases, the boat
should be made secure, because it is not subject to changes in the
water level in the Lock.
