I strongly advise against cleating the line back to the cleat. we made that 
mistake once and it was the time that the bollard hung up.  By the time we 
got the line cut we were within inches of being sunk, and did $6000.00 
damage.  Cleat one end go around the Bollard bring the line back onboard and 
hold on to it. and have a good sharp knife within reach.
